PC Women's Soccer Reaches 2-0 in Big East Play | ABC6

The Providence College women’s soccer team defeated the Butler Bulldogs, 1-0, on Sunday, September 29 at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. The Friars moved to 5-4-1 overall and 2-0-0 in BIG EAST play. Butler falls to 6-3-2 overall, and 1-1-1 in the BIG EAST.

GAME FLOW AND NOTES

-Ella McBride (Peterborough, Canada) scored her first goal of the season for the Friars to give Providence the lead in the 84th minute. Her goal was unassisted.

– Ellie Thallman (Northville, Mich.) saved Abigail Isger’s penalty kick with under four minutes left to help hold Butler scoreless.

– Emma Bodmer (Monroe Township, N.J.) and Ellie Thallman recorded their second straight combined clean sheet. This marks their third combined shutout of the season.

– Providence improved to 5-1-1 at home this season with the win.
